High Speed Imaging

MotionScope M1 and M3
Small, Lightweight Digital Camera Designs for High-Speed Imaging
Redlake’s MotionScope systems provide advanced high-speed imaging via small, lightweight, easy-to-use digital camera designs. These versatile systems convert the blur of speeding objects into clear, slow motion digital video: perfect for high-speed machinery and packaging diagnostics, process control, and laboratory research. Capture rapid movements with amazing clarity at hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands of frames-per-second using one of these novel imaging systems from Redlake.

Captures High-Speed Objects with Outstanding Resolution
Redlake’s MotionScope cameras can image fast-moving objects, allowing users to detect and analyze image data unobtainable with conventional video cameras. Redlake’s MotionScope M1 design delivers a resolution of 640x512 at up to 1,000 frames-per-second while its MotionScope M3 design captures up to 500 frames-per-second with a resolution of 1280x1024 (and with frame rates up to 32,000 fps at lower resolutions).
Flexible Triggering
Redlake’s MotionScope cameras contains a flexible triggering system which gives users the ability to precisely define their motion analysis objectives by allowing them to pre-select the number of pre- and post-trigger frames to be taken. Enabled with a circular buffer inside the Redlake MotionScope system, users can capture the most unpredictable events as they happen.
Built-In Image Memory
The cameras' built-in image memory stores high-speed sequences for immediate playback, analysis, or for downloading images onto a PC’s hard disk according to the image memory option of your choice.
Internal Battery
The unique design of Redlake’s MotionScope camera systems includes an internal battery that provides 30 minutes of full standalone operation and as many as four hours in stand-by mode. The only external connection necessary for this system is a trigger signal, ridding users of bulky processors and tethered cables.
FireWire Connectivity
Redlake’s MotionScope camera systems contains a standard IEEE-1394 six-pin FireWire connection which supplies power to the camera as well as a command and data interface to the user’s PC. Multiple cameras may be networked via FireWire Hub.
Sync In Input permits Multiple-Camera Systems
Available only in Redlake’s MotionScope M3 system, Sync In input allows the camera to be frame-synchronized with other cameras.
Sync Output
Redlake’s MotionScope designs feature Sync Output which allows precise synchronization of ancillary instrumentation and/or strobe lighting.
Imaging Studio Software. The complete solution.
All MotionScope cameras (and MotionXtra HG-XE) are supported by the powerful Imaging Studio under Windows XP/2000. It permits complete control of camera features and basic set-of-motion analysis tools such as manual tracking and distance calibration. The easy to use interface assures that you will be capturing the data within minutes out of the box.
Note: MotionScope M1 and M2 cameras can now be operated by the Imaging Studio. They just need to “unlocked” using a free downloadable utility. Please use software request form under support section to download.
